Temperament & Personality

Maine Coons are known as "gentle giants" due to their large size and friendly nature. They are social, intelligent, and often described as dog-like in their loyalty and playfulness.

These cats are excellent with children and other pets. They are curious and enjoy interactive play, making them wonderful family companions. They often follow their owners around the house.

Exercise & Activity Needs

Maine Coons are moderately active cats that enjoy play and exploration. They benefit from daily interactive play sessions and access to climbing structures like cat trees.

They are excellent hunters and enjoy puzzle toys and games that challenge their intelligence. Providing vertical space for climbing helps satisfy their natural instincts.

Care & Grooming

Despite their long, shaggy coats, Maine Coons have relatively low-maintenance grooming needs. Their silky fur is less prone to matting than other long-haired breeds.

Brush them 2-3 times per week to remove loose hair and prevent tangles. Regular nail trimming, ear cleaning, and dental care are important for maintaining their health.
