Temperament & Personality

Labrador Retrievers are friendly, outgoing, and active companions. They have a reputation for being excellent family dogs and are one of the most popular breeds worldwide.

Labs are known for their gentle nature and patience, making them wonderful with children. They are also highly trainable and often work as guide dogs, therapy dogs, and in search and rescue operations.

Exercise & Activity Needs

Labrador Retrievers are energetic and athletic dogs that need significant daily exercise. They require at least 1-2 hours of activity, including walks, runs, and play sessions.

They especially love water activities and retrieving games. Without adequate exercise, Labs can become overweight and may develop behavioral issues.

Care & Grooming

Labrador Retrievers have a short, dense double coat that is water-resistant. They shed moderately throughout the year and heavily during seasonal changes.

Weekly brushing is usually sufficient, increasing to daily during heavy shedding periods. They need baths every 6-8 weeks and regular nail trimming and ear cleaning.
