Golden Retrievers are one of the most popular dog breeds in the world, known for their friendly and tolerant attitudes. They are incredibly patient and make wonderful family pets, especially with children.
These dogs are highly intelligent and eager to please, which makes them easy to train. They excel in obedience competitions and are often used as service dogs, therapy dogs, and search-and-rescue dogs.
Golden Retrievers are active dogs that require regular exercise. They need at least 1-2 hours of physical activity daily, including walks, playtime, and mental stimulation.
They love swimming, fetching, and any activities that involve retrieving objects. Without proper exercise, they may become bored and develop destructive behaviors.
Golden Retrievers have a dense, water-repellent double coat that sheds moderately year-round and heavily twice a year. Regular brushing (at least 2-3 times per week) is essential to manage shedding and prevent matting.
They should be bathed every 6-8 weeks and have their nails trimmed regularly. Pay special attention to ear cleaning as their floppy ears can be prone to infections.
